My parents were taking care of both my brother’s and my own education during our young lives. They supported and encouraged us to work hard but most importantly to work smart 🙂
Obviously, it wasn’t always that easy but the passion for books stayed with us until now and I’m sure it will stay forever. I remember my last stage of education when I was almost done with my PhD I was so frustrated and didn’t believe I have enough strength to finish it. It’s even hard to explain how I felt and how stressed I was with the PhD exams and the research for my thesis. My mom was supporting me and gave me so much energy and faith that I can do it so that finally I believed in myself and I conquered my weaknesses. The library in our family home is quite impressive. I’m so happy I can show my favorite books from childhood and introduce them to my daughter. Celina shares our love to books since she turned 3 months. Me and my husband started to read to her very early. She was not even a month old when I read the first book to her. Now she is 9 months old and already can focus on our reading even when the book doesn’t have so many colorful pictures. She enjoys to hear our voices, intonation and observing us when changing pages. The funniest moments are when my mom reads a book to her about animals and makes respective funny noises. Celina is laughing so loud and she enjoys her time with grandma big time :-)As we love spending time at home with books I took some pictures at our family home in Poland. When we get back to Texas we will show you our library and share with you our favorite books in English and in other languages. How about your family? Do you read often to your children? What kind of books do they like the most? We would love to know more about your habits and ways to early education of your little angels.
